If a suitable nonionic polyacrylamide is found, the sludge can be effectively dewatered before entering the water for filtration. In this case, the flocs produced by dewatering are relatively overlapping and do not adhere to the filter cloth. More importantly, they do not disperse during the filtration process. The sludge cake is thicker and the dewatering efficiency is high.

Nonionic polyacrylamide is used in the water treatment industry. When used as a flocculant, it also has a very good effect with particularly fast clarification speed, as evident from its application in domestic sewage and river sewage. • Nonionic polyacrylamide is primarily used as a flocculant for solid-liquid separation processes in industrial settings, including sedimentation, clarification, concentration, and sludge dewatering processes. The main application industries include municipal wastewater treatment, paper industry, food processing industry, petrochemical industry, metallurgical industry, mineral processing industry, textile industry, sugar industry, and wastewater treatment in various industries. The positive functional groups in the sludge neutralize the negatively charged organic colloids in the sludge. The excellent bridging and coagulation function of the polymer promotes the aggregation of colloidal particles into large flocs, separating the flocs from the suspension. • In the paper industry, nonionic polyacrylamide can be used as a paper strength agent, retention aid, and drainage aid, significantly improving paper quality, saving costs, and enhancing the production capacity of paper mills.
