The sludge should be conditioned before dewatering, so what is the proper dosage of PAM in the sludge conditioning process? How to determine the dosage? What is the suitable preparation percentage of PAM? The PAM dosage and the suitable PAM of different sludge are different. Some sludge needs anionic PAM, but some need cationic PAM. Before the selection of PAM, it is necessary to measure the charge property of sludge and determine the selection of PAM type according to the charge property.
1. First of all, understand the properties of the sludge. What kind of wastewater produces the sludge? Is it digested or concentrated?
2. The properties of polyacrylamide vary from each other, so cationic, anionic, and nonionic and the molecular weight need to be considered. Cationic polyacrylamide PAM is usually used for activated sludge dewatering. The solution concentration of PAM is usually 0.1%, and the dissolving and stirring time is relatively long; the stirring time of solid PAM is usually more than 1 hour. The following measurements are for reference:
Flocculation: 1-10 ppm
Sludge dewatering: 20-300 ppm
